The Arup Melbourne project had the unique benefit of negotiating with LendLease on the Melbourne Quarter development during the early concept phases, resulting in a three-level volume punctuated by overlapping voids and suspended mezzanines opening up to a public skypark. This play on compression and expansion informed the program within the workplace, creating a series of spaces to socialise, focus, collaborate and test. The first to achieve a WELL Platinum certification in Australia, the project team challenged the building’s systems and challenged Arup’s internal operations to create a perfectly hosted, engaging and adaptive future workplace.
